In which area will linked data skyrocket?
So, the BBC does it, the New York Times as well, several governments are about to do it. Linked data is taking off.
Now, I wonder in which area linked data will skyrocket. Here are my top three bets:
- Enterprises. No matter if used internally, B2C or B2B. This is a hot and promising area (hint: check out activities around GoodRelations).
- Governments. Not very surprisingly, but as the US and the U.K. are ready to rock, how long will it take till there is, say, a European-wide initiative, or Russia, China, Japan, and India chime in?
- You. Modern CMS, such as Drupal are or will soon be equipped with the basic infrastructure to create and publish linked data. Are you a cheese fan? Well, how about linked cheese data then? Fancy building your own location based service? Have a look at Geo SPARQL, and so on and so forth.
What's your guess? In which area will linked data skyrocket? Give us a shout on Twitter or signing up on our mailing list ...
